Mission

The Space Hardware Club will be participating in the nationwide effort to fly High Altitude Balloons to near space and record as well as transmit live video of the August 21, 2017 Eclipse. The project will be the first attempt ever to transmit video of an eclipse live and simultaneously from 52 partner teams. The SHC will be flying from the Austin Peay State University Astronomy Observatory Field on the day of the eclipse. Nicholas Jordan, a junior at UAH, is the Team Lead and uses his previous experience as SHC BalloonSat Team Lead to prepare for the upcoming celestial event.
