ASH

Team Lead - Todd McKinney

The ASH project specializes in creating floating balloon systems that remain at one altitude. Our balloon payloads can remain in the air for multiple days or months. This year, the ASH team will continue their work with super pressure balloons. The team was awarded a research spot at the German Antarctic Neumayer III Station where we deployed eight micro super pressure balloons during the summer season.

Some of the balloon trajectories launched from Antarctica.

Balloons are currently taking data over the southern hemisphere.

WSPR signals can travel back the United States due the unique propagative nature of the southern hemisphere.
